A young dove stained with ink
A flower painted in pink- starts to Turn Grey
Oh Where has the innocence gone ?
Is it hidden in a quiet forest?
Or where the snow might lay?
When A deer lost in the evergreen prances
And The wind kissed leaf sways
To life's melody of untaken chances
When a sad lament goes unsung
Futility stretched beneath the Sun
The rose that blooms in the garden
Knows not its own beauty
When A baby opens his eyes to a New reality
Why did the dove drink from the fountain it was offered?
And the beautiful flower is now wilted
Why has this olive leaf died on the vine ?
And The clouds open up and start to cry
The broken wing was mended
But the Two roads of life has bended
Where has the innocence gone ?
I sit here and wonder
